Think First mission is the prevention of Spinal Cord and Brain injury through education, research and advocacy aimed at healthy behaviour in children and youth - prevention is the only cure!
Dr Jessica Trier
Think First Director
Dr. Trier is a Physiatrist (specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation). She is the Medical Director of the Acquired Brain Injury Rehabiitation Program at Providence Care Hospital.

Bryce is the Regional Services Co-ordinator with Spinal Cord Injury Ontario
Dr. Karen Smith
Board Member
Dr Smith is Emeritus Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Queen’s University. She retired in 2024 after working for 37 years in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Casey Dorey
Board Member
Casey was born and raised in Kingston and practices as a personal injury lawyer for Bergeron/Clifford LLP, often representing those who suffered a brain injury
Pat Patterson
Board Member
Pat has been a Board Member for 15 years. In an earlier life, she taught high school Physical and Health Education.
Peter Bearse
Board Member
Peter Bearse is a Registered Nurse. He works as a public health nurse on the School Health Team at KFL&A Public Health.
Josh Furlonger
Board Member
Since 2010, Josh has been involved with ThinkFirst Kingston, actively promoting and supporting the mission of ensuring that children and youth in Kingston and the surrounding areas have access to education and support around injury prevention and enabling them to engage in their activities as safely as possible.
Peggy Hall
Board Member
Worked as a Registered Nurse in Rehabilitation, with Brain injuries and Spinal Cord injuries, for over 30 years and is retired.
